Story Time for Young Birders - "Mel Fell"

10:00 a.m. - NoonBurroughs Audubon Nature Center and Bird Sanctuary

BAS is hosting a special story time for young bird lovers (ages 3-7, but children of all ages welcome) as part of an outreach project of Mid-Continent Public Library. Barbara Horsey, Early Literacy Specialist from the Blue Springs South Branch, will read "Mel Fell", a humorous story of a fledgling's first flight. The story will be followed by crafts designed to teach children about different types of bird beaks and bird diets. Guests may also participate in a short scavenger hunt, or watch birds at our feeders. Please dress for the outdoors as the program will be held on the lawn in front of the nature center. Water and snacks will be provided; lawn chairs are helpful, but not required.
SPACE IS LIMITED--Please register via call or text to 816-795-8177 by September 14. Provide a total number for your party (adults and children) and a contact number for confirmation. Come join the fun!
