"An Update on Avian Influenza in Missouri: Are Our Songbirds in Danger?" Join Dr. Sherri Russell, DVM, Missouri State Wildlife Veterinarian. BAS fielded many inquiries this spring as a severe avian influenza (AI) outbreak killed some of our migratory waterfowl and caused temporary closures at some popular birding venues. It also led to many questions about feeding songbirds. Dr. Russell will discuss the impact of AI specifically on Missouri birds (including songbirds) and what the future may hold in terms of new outbreaks and ongoing research. Please bring your questions! To request the ZOOM meeting link, please send an email to: zoom AT burroughs DOT org.
