“Banding Secretive Saw-whets in Missouri” by Dana Ripper and Ethan Duke of Missouri River Bird Observatory. Northern Saw-whet Owls (the smallest in Missouri) migrate unseen and unknown by most birders. Dana and Ethan have banded and studied these tiny, intriguing rodent hunters during fall migration for over a decade, allowing many people a brief, wondrous glimpse into their lives.
