Field Trip: Montrose Conservation Area

Burroughs is hosting a field trip to Montrose Conservation Area, south of Urich, MO on this first Saturday of November. Montrose is 2,700 acres of woodlands and fields around Montrose Lake, a man-made lake built to provide cooling water for the now retired coal-fired power plant which once occupied the site. We’ll search for returning waterfowl, early winter sparrows and our resident species. Meet at 7:30 a.m. in the east parking area of Sapp Brothers Travel Center at 27603 SW Outer Road, Harrisonville, MO. (The intersection of I-49 and MO Hwy 7). The trip will last until mid afternoon, so bring water and snacks/lunch. Your leader is Don Arney. Contact Don at 816-918-5371 or 22sora@gmail.com with any questions.
