Nature Center Program: Monarch Tagging and Release

Join Burroughs Audubon and Thomas Hart Benton Group of Sierra Club for a Sunday afternoon Monarch tagging and release event at Burroughs’ Esther O’Connor Wildflower Prairie near Lake Jacomo! We will provide tags, nets, and demonstrate how to safely capture and tag Monarchs as they migrate through their area. The butterflies that we capture and tag this day are the generation that will fly to the oyamel fir forests in central Mexico, primarily in the state of Michoacán.
