General Meetings & Programs: Bird Migration and How We Track It

Virtual event (Zoom) presented by Sara Blunk, BAS Board Member and Johnson County KSU Extension Master Naturalist. Let’s celebrate the birder’s second favorite season: fall migration! Long or short, epic journeys are a vital part of many birds’ lives and scientists are constantly making fascinating discoveries about them. Sara will give an overview of migration as a whole (highlighting some interesting examples) and describe some of the technologies used to track migration and what kinds of questions can they answer.
