Field Trip: Stamm Field

Stamm Field is an under-birded hotspot in Jackson County that features several acres of shrubby habitat ideal for overwintering sparrows and other winter residents, including Red-headed Woodpeckers and Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers. We’ll meet in the parking lot at 8 AM and walk approximately two miles of mowed paths winding through the fields in search of various sparrow species and other winter birds. Boots are recommended, as the terrain can be uneven in places.
Please Note: Access to Stamm Field is only available from the south at Hook Rd and Sampson Rd. Construction on Sampson Rd north of Stamm Field currently blocks entry from that direction.
