SUMMARY:Birding at Shawnee Mission Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of birding at Shawnee Mission Park! We’ll meet at 7:15 AM at the North Grove parking lot. (Enter the park at 79th and Renner\, turn left\, then stay right when the road forks. The parking lot will be the first on your left.) \nFrom there\, we’ll follow the trail to the boardwalk\, then make our way along the north shore to the marina. Afterward\, we’ll relocate to the north end of the dam and explore the Mill Creek Trail below. Expect to walk 2+ miles\, depending on what birds we encounter. \nWe’ll be on the lookout for waterbirds on the lake\, as well as early migrants and resident nesters along the trails. \nWhat to bring: binoculars\, water\, snacks\, sunscreen\, and anything else you normally take birding.All are welcome\, and feel free to leave whenever you need to. \nQuestions?
