Welcome!

Whether you’re a member of Burroughs, or just interested in birds and nature, please browse our site and take advantage of all that it has to offer. Most of our activities are free of charge and open to everyone, members and nonmembers alike. We want everyone to experience the joy of birds and birding!

On our website, you’ll find information about birding opportunities and hands-on conservation projects in the Kansas City area. Learn about the newest bird research and birds from around the world at our General Meetings. Socialize with other nature lovers and view and identify birds in the wild on one of our many field trips throughout the year. Visit our library and nature center in eastern Jackson County to meet a variety of backyard birds up close, and find the materials you need to begin feeding and watching birds in our gift shop! You will also find knowledgeable volunteers who can answer your questions about birds, birding, and the Audubon organization.

By following the simple link here, or on the main page, you can join our group email list, BurroughsAnnounce, which will keep you informed of BAS activities and other matters of interest to naturalists. Burroughs never shares or sells email addresses, and the group list is open to all.
Thank you for visiting! We hope that you will return often. If you have any suggestions for improving our website, please send your comments to mail@burroughs.org.

Sincerely,

Keith Brink
